we had thought about painting it red, then we found a beautiful black with an ochre base, so black the house will be, with off white around the windows!
bit by bit we will paint it as it takes so much time to do and a lot of money.
the blackboard we painted on the wall was such a good idea. it works so well (especially for those reminders) and is a lot of fun for the kids. i'd paint a wall like this anytime again!

Hi Fliss!!
Looks like all is well over there.
I love getting glimpses of your home, especially that kitchen!!
(and of course, that cute kid :)

good afternoon :)
i really like the new colour of your house. when i was in norway, quite a few houses were painted that colour- like a very dark wood. and i love the blackboard too.

thanks melissa. we managed to finish one wall on the weekend and its wonderful. i saw houses in NZ this colour which inspired us, we originally wanted to paint it red like the swedish summer houses, but didnt think it would suit here!

Such a warm black it is... it will look wonderful with the white accent. And I like your idea of doing it in stages, it sounds much more manageable on all fronts. xo

Hi there. Love your blog, and the wall colour you have chosen. Are you familiar with this wonderful house:

Derek Jarman's place in Dungeness, England. Fabulous.

Is that paint you used on the house the same as something like Moose farg, a typical Norwegian paint? I'm asking, I'm looking for a nice black paint for my shed, and I love yours.
All the best,
Louise
