Max and Oaks are in their bedroom for what seems like a few hours but its probably only about 20 minutes. All you can hear is chatting & laughter and the dulled thump of feet hitting the floor as they jump off the bed and into their mountain of doona's & pillows.

Yesterday i also received some very old pepper and salt shakers which are from Japan and have been passed down from my fathers great uncle to him then on to me... I think i will hang them on the wall as they are so beautiful. Speaking of beautiful... we did manage to get to the beach like we thought with the kids and some great friends on saturday morning...the sun did shine, we spent the whole morning there and a large part of it under these trees then in the surf then under the trees etc... it was about 37 degrees. HOT but good!!
Yesterday Hal and i celebrated our anniversary (6 years), we dont really celebrate on the date as we married on the full moon in february so its when the full moon shines.... and yesterday the sun shone too!
We made the most of the sunny day (its been raining for 3 months) and took some time out to relax at the beach. It was such a beautiful day soaking up the warmth of the sun and swimming in the salt water, having lunch at Sister organic cafe and hanging out with my beautiful man. We came home, cooked some fresh fish for dinner and lay on the couch. I think we will do it again tomorrow with both the kids and Scout .... please let it not be raining!

Penguins all in a line, taking time for tea breaks (and catching up with Hal) and then doing writing and reading with Max in the evenings. I love this stage when he is into reading and asking you how to spell words as he writes the letters.
We walk alot and even more now we have Scout.... she's been a very easy pup so far. I think we are more keen to walk her than she is to go. We have to almost drag her out of the back garden and then on the way home she runs to get back here... a home body already!
These clothes by Mette are beautiful. If only Oaks was a year younger.
Oaks & I found this fantastic remanent of fabric today in the op shop. I had some pink tule and a little one asking for a pink tutu, so while she slept i sewed. It wasnt as easy as i thought and it is very funny trying to get it on...you see, i made it too small so we enter it from the top of the singlet and pull it up and then squeeze her arms into the holes.... she definitely needs help getting it on and off ..... its a classic site!
She loves it !!!

Normally when I have a few child free days I seem to sew like mad... making every moment of my time. This week has been a little different as i found that i have been too much in my head and rushing around trying to do it all.... so i have been going slower and I'm enjoying it.
Like a turtle...not a hare!
A lazy sunday morning taking some time out reading yet another of those cookbooks of ours... thinking about dinner already....it would be nice to have it tonight in Istanbul!

Its been a couple of months since i finished an order as the christmas break and the summer holidays took priority. Now as they are back at school (Oaks is at Kindy 2 days a week) I'm finding some more time.
It feels good to be making again :)

This is another collection which gets used nearly every day..... i love cook books and love reading them ( as well as cooking from them), especially the ones with the travel stories ( the 4 one the bottom!!).

Introducing you to 'Scout.'
Max is still a little unsure about her as he was bowled over by a large dog when he was fairly young.... so hes very tentative.
So this weekend we will be getting to know our little Scout, training her, playing with her and having many cuddles. I have put our shoes out of sight!!!!
