Our christmas tree is up!
This year a beautiful branch from our Blue Quandong tree out the front has fallen for us as we too have fallen for it! So we have made some decorations as well as bought a special glass bird for each of us.... next thing is to make some fabric leaves, all from recycled pieces!!

Things have been a little crazy here pre- christmas as I finish off my wholesale orders and get semi organized before the 25th. I dont think i am ever totally organized but this Christmas ( and every one after that) I pledge to buy only handmade so I am loving Etsy and as it is worldwide i need to be a little on to it.

Drawing and painting cards for christmas was more entertaining.

We made it to the beach last friday afternoon and found this sand sculpture.

Check out the work by the girls that form the Umbrella Collective. They had a Christmas market stall in Brisbane on saturday and i couldn't resist this pear from Flying star toys and these hair clips made by Liana Kabel- beautiful christmas presents......but maybe i will have to keep the pear!

Sound asleep

ahhhhh fast asleep. Lots of playing outside today in the garden and in a cardboard box ( the size of a fridge) . Too much fun to be had with one box....got to love it!. Now they are sleeping and instead of being in the studio sewing I'm feeling like having a cup of tea and maybe later ( when they wake) head to the beach for a swim.

A Luna with a tummy full of pineapple ... tis the season.

A glimpse at part of the group which took off to Craft Vic yesterday, accompined by Little green walking hood and her friendly Fox.

Love these . Would love a whole lot of them all lined up on a shelf!!!!

So here is 'Little green walking hood and her friendly fox', out for a stroll spreading some seeds and planting some trees.

I was going to show these 2 new additions when i had finished the rest of the order for Craft Vic but i can't hold back any longer and i have almost finished the other 10.

Every year Craft Vic has a colour theme for christmas time and this year it is green so i decided to create with meaning as well as colour.

Both pieces are made from about 99% recycled fabrics and in the seed bag is a mixture for Good bugs!!

I am really happy with how they both turned out as i have had them in my head for a long time now, it will be sad to say goodbye, but i hope whoever buys them plants a tree or spreads some seeds.
Keep greening our planet!

A little bit about NZ

Matai Bay

This time last year we took off to New Zealand for 10 weeks. We bought a van (kids slept in it) and took our 2 man tent (we slept in that) and without any plans (except a wedding to go to) we travelled the north island having an incredible adventure with our 4 year old and 18 month old!

The wedding was on the beautiful island of Waiheke, just off Auckland and even tho Max was down with the chicken pox, which made us watch the wedding ceremony from a distance, the island and the little red bach couldn't of been better to help him recover. It also became one of our many manifestations, that maybe we could live there one day!

The iron sands of the West Coast, NZ

About 2 weeks later Oaks came down with the Pox, so again we chose quiet beaches to relax and tried our best to keep away from everyone. Most of our trip was spent along the coast loving the beach and its ability to entertain the little ones. Along the way (after the Pox) we met some beautiful people and one in particular introduced us to the sounds of Fat Freddys Drop ,a Wellington based group who fast became one of our favourite bands. Last Sunday night we headed to Brisbane to see them play live and it was an absolutely incredible gig with a fair bit of improv happening - which is characteristaically dub, which was awesome!!!!
So if you ever get a chance to see them play live i highly reccomend it, or just buy their album!

The black back ground in this picture is the sand, or iron sands as they call it in NZ. Its amazing being at a beach without the familiar white sands that you find on the east coast.
So until next time (I am hoping for next year) NZ is not too far away for a trip .

This is the first time i have added us to SPT (self portrait tuesday) but thought it time to show our faces. This was not today but thinking it may of been a tuesday last year rugged up in NZ. I was inspired by Smosch and her last SPT on the 30th oct.
