Exploring new places

Off to Brisbane we went for the weekend and took these friends to Cherry Blossom in Paddington.
We relaxed and caught up with family which i always love to do especially when we can hang out at night and knit little scarves...a new addition to some up and coming penguins.

3 of the 5 luna's for Cherry Blossom

Then return to our beautiful green space here at home and be welcomed by a parcel from Gracia
A very exciting swap and this artists proof is even more stunning in person... its beautiful as is my sweet owl friend who now resides up high overlooking the living room and the port 2 port card which hangs in my studio. I cant wait to frame this beautiful piece of art and hang it but until then it is out of reach from tiny fingers!
Last week Maxs' 10 tiny fingers made a boat from recycled bits and pieces at school ( very cute it was) . Then his class and a few of us adults accompanied the children up a creek to sail these sweet rafts .They took a net and tried to catch little critters, we then lit a camp fire and each child learnt how to be safe with a stick in the fire.
They cooked pop corn in the fire , ate it fast , and then we all sat down for some home cooked damper.....it was the most beautiful excursion i have been on.

Yay! So happy it all arrived safe and sound, Fliss, and that you're happy with your Melbourne loot. I'd love to see a photo of my lady from Hungary and her owl companion framed too.
And, if you are ever keen on another swap... I'd love too. Your little green penguin has settled in with ease ( http://gracialouise.typepad.com/high_up_in_the_trees/2007/06/in_the_garden_t.html ), and looks sure to live a contended life. He has already had his portrait painted over on LJ's blog( http://gracialouise.typepad.com/elsewhere/2007/06/our_etsy_shop_i.html ).
Thanks, again... g xo
