a week in the world

 

Many thanks to you all for you words and congratulations on the arrival of Art, its very sweet of you.

Its been a beautiful first week getting to know one another:

He's been smothered in kisses and cuddles from his brother and sister (mum & dad too). toes tickled and hands held.sleeping. feeding. crying. pooing. yawning. gazing. cradled in arms and a sling. massaged after a bath in the kitchen sink and one shower (sink was too small).

and being introduced to Tumpty the beautiful elephant made by the very talented and gorgeous Claire. Have a look at Famapa's cloud Claire made too.

p.s....that is a yawn, not him crying!

We welcomed little Art Tui to the world last friday night.

It was amazing and faster than expected!

 so Happy :)

quiet days together

The weekend was so slow and relaxing. M & O and i spent sunday .....

painting pictures....

making banana and choc chip muffins....

eyeing them off when fresh out of the oven.....

eating them whilst in the middle of painting and constructing the solar system (mobile).....

And having a good laugh as i am told by M that i look like an old woman when trying to get off the ground after painting with them, its no wonder when i feel as though i have digested a basket ball and am now 4 days overdue....but its all good and I am feeling fine. This baby is the only one who knows when its coming!

Thankyou again for all your warm wishes on my last post, the mobile has been a hit with H and i too as it hangs beside our bed and above the cot :)

There was some time found over the weekend to make a mobile which was inspired by this. I find such beauty  in Cocon's work and would love to one day behold a piece. 

And now as the kids are back at school today  i will head for the sewing machine in the next few minutes to make more things, feeling like i have some creative energy again. 

I still do have a few little ones here to look after. We have 6 new week old chickens and here's hoping not too many  of them turn into roosters as we can't keep them. That would be a shame!

holiday mornings

It has been a slow pace around here.

These school holidays have been running on snail time and our mornings are filled with relaxation and no rushing to get to school. perfect when there is a week left until this baby is due!

breakfasts are longer.....

the mornings are warming up.....

rabbits were drawn and then each day bit by bit they were created.... Fang and Cheesy became part of the family!

And a lot of attention went to the dog!

At first i was a little worried about holidays being so close to when baby is due, i shouldn't have been. This slow time i am cherishing hanging out with my 2 before school starts again and a baby boy or girl is born.
